We are bringing together our clients and our staff for over two days of formal and informal instruction. Our goal is to provide you with ideas and education opportunities so you can bring home new information that can make a meaningful impact on your business.

  • Monday, we will all be in one large meeting. Tuesday, we will break out into smaller more specialized classrooms.
  • Sunday May 20
    • Meet and Greet Reception: 5-7pm at the Borgata
    • We kick off the Executive Roundtable with a cocktail party, roundtable registration and gifts at the Borgata Hotel and Casino. Drop by and network with industry peers, say hellow to the Mark Systems team, and have a beer on us.
  • Monday May 21
    • Introduction by the President of Mark Systems - Things get started Monday morning with an outline of the day's session and introduction of all participants by the President of Mark Systems, Mark Finelli.
    • Keynote Speaker - Wayne Norris of Hanley Wood Marketing Intelligence will be making this years Keynote address on "Innovative Ideas from Thriving Homebuilders in a Down Economy".
    • Client Case Studies - Hear three different case studies from three of our clients. This year's topics will range from green\ efficient building to moving from custom building into entry level building to building near energy sources.
    • IHMS New Feature Demonstration - Review of new functions and enhancements in the latest version of IHMS demonstrated by Vice President of Mark Systems, Don Scattergood.
    • Panelist Discussion - Hear from four different Mark System client's executives who have successfully implemented IHMS modules and best practices who will share their experiences in an open forum.
    • IHMS Roundtable Discussion of Requested New Features - Discussion of new feature requests from you the customer with our Vice President, Scott Duman. We want to hear about system enhancements that will make you more efficient and profitable.
    • Dinner with Mark Systems - Join Mark Systems' principals and consulting staff for a banquet dinner and cocktails as we conclude the first day of the conference and raffle off an iPad!

        Beginning with the first contact, customer service is one of the most important parts of the homebuilding experience, and the IHMS Internet ToolKit and Document Management are critical tools to achieve customer service excellence. This interactive class will help you give your customers the best possible experience, from prospect registration through home construction to warranty service and beyond. We'll review the setup and configuration for Prospect Registration and home buyer/home owner access, as well as the deep integration into the Document Management process. Best practices for warranty management as well as the latest features in these area will round out this valuable break out session.
      • Advanced Purchasing using PO Inheritance

        Rich Finelli - IHMS Consultant / Implementation Project Manager

        Learn how to quantify supplier price agreements with pricing organized by part stored globally or at the individual development. Provide plan and option take-offs globally with the ability to alter quantities of take-offs at the development level. Utilize supplier resources to keep prices current with the vendor price update spreadsheet. Take control of take-off changes using the export/import features in Excel to update quantities.
      • Scheduling with NHQ and ITK

        Robert Cain, VP of Consulting

        Building it right the 1st time - that's what it all boils down to for National Housing Quality (NHQ) Certified Trade Contractors. Checklists are as much a part of the building process as a cell phone. Communicating to and verifying the work of over 60 trade partners per house as well as being ready for customer interaction and unforeseen scheduling conflicts and weather delays are enough to cripple even the most organized superintendents. Learn how to control quality and build houses in the exact sequence with the exact steps each time without missing all the important details. Use the NHQ system as an email and historical reporting tool for superintendents and vendors.

Learn how to structure General Ledger accounts with the use of financial division for reporting profit centers, as well as utilizing General Ledger detail accounts to represent expense account groupings. Learn how to maximize IHMS tools for financial reporting.
      • Global Contracts - Best Practices for Turnkey Contracts

        Rich Finelli - IHMS Consultant / Implementation Project Manager

        Vendor contracts are the essential ingredient in the recipe for efficient homebuilding. They allow you to pre-negotiate prices with turnkey and labor vendors to automate work order production and invoicing. In this class we'll start with the basics, learning how to setup and manage base and option vendor contracts. We'll spend much of our time exploring in detail, the implementation of Global Vendor Contracts when pricing remains the same for a plan that is built in several developments. Also, the differences and appropriate times to use the Bid Worksheet vs. the Update Vendor Contracts program will be clearly defined.
      • The Four Types of Options

        Learn about the four types of options offered in IHMS and how to effectively use each one to maximize option revenue and communicate selections to the field. This class will also cover traditional, upgrade, custom and standard color selection options as well as how to effectively manage the selections from buyers. We will also review option attributes such as cut-off stages, option categories for cost mark-up and selections, option control groups and option document attachments.

      • Maximizing IHMS to Achieve Organizational Efficiency

        Successful businesses need streamlined, effective and efficient processes and procedures implemented in order to achieve organizational efficiency. Learn how to guide your homebuilding organization to a new level of communication through a high level software implementation session focused on improving communications and procedures to maximize resources. Topics include the 4 C's of a successful software implementation through an open forum discussion on how to best utilize IHMS at your organization.
      • Advanced Reporting and the New Financial Statement Report Writer

        Custom financial reporting has been one of the most requested features of IHMS. The existing financial statement report writer will help advanced users but proved to be limited when consolidating groups of companies. Learn how to develop custom financial reports using ranges of General Ledger accounts at the major, division and detail level consolidating financial information for one or more companies displayed in a polished L report or Excel.
